Papakura Intermediate School
Over the years Island Base Trust has journeyed with young people from Papakura Intermediate to explore creativity and meaningful connections through modern day technology. The initiative started as a Podcast in 2021 and has now evolved into a student-led exploration involving content creation, music production, composition, and recording. Using Cap Cut and Garage Band software, our young people gained an entry level understanding on how to create and compose their own original audio and video content with the overall objectives to
- Development of skills and tools enabling the students to produce effective (social) media content.
- Developing some awareness, caution, and critical thinking around fake online content.
- Assisting with a creative project chosen by the students, as individuals, or even better, in small groups.
